Twenty Restaurants Named Recipients of Outdoor Dining Enhancement Grant

I’d like a table outside, please. Twenty local restaurants will soon receive money to revamp outdoor dining spaces as a part of the $200,000 Outdoor Dining Enhancement Grant. This grant is funded through KCMO’s 2024 Convention and Tourism Budget and will be divided among these 20 recipients:

  • Oddly Correct

  • Cafe Ollama

  • Buffalo State Pizza Co.

  • PH Coffee

  • Browne’s Irish Marketplace

  • Novel Restaurant

  • Grand Street Café

  • Lulu’s Thai Noodle Shop

  • Double Tap KC

  • The Brick

  • Kobi Q

  • Vye Cocktail Lounge

  • Grinders

  • Tacos El Gallo

  • Blip Roasters

The Fairy Princess Returns to The Kansas City Museum!

The Fairy Princess, one of Kansas City’s longest-running holiday traditions, returns to the Kansas City Museum on December 12-15!

  • Festive Fairies: The Fairy Princess tradition was started in 1935 at Kansas City’s Kline’s Department Store which closed in the early 1970’s. The Kansas City Museum has held the event since 1987, and it will be held inside the Betty Milbank Waldrop Salon on the first floor.

  • Magical Gifts: Tickets to the event include a visit with the Fairy Princess, a special gift and sweet treat, a printed photo & picture frame onsite, access to a website to purchase additional prints/digital downloads, and 10% off in the Wisteria boutique.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra Rocks Kansas City This Weekend

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

America’s favorite neoclassical symphonic metal Christmas rock band (got all that?) Trans-Siberian Orchestra returns to Kansas City this Saturday!

  • Ghosts are Back: TSO has been wowing crowds with its elaborate shows, which feature pyrotechnics, lasers, storytelling, and more, since 1996. The 2024 tour marks the grand return of “THE LOST CHRISTMAS EVE”, which has not been performed since 2013.

  • Christmas Canon: There will be two shows at the T-Mobile Center this Saturday (12/7), at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The high-energy shows are family-friendly, although very loud. Check out this trailer for a sneak peek of this year’s show.

A National Coffee Competition is Brewing at Messenger This Weekend

Calling all coffee snobs! The U.S. Coffee Championships (USCC) is hosting a Regional Qualifying Competition in Kansas City this weekend.

  • Best of the Brew: The U.S. Brewers Cup is a filter coffee brewing competition for the best craft brewers across the country. Kansas City is one of three cities hosting a Regional Qualifying Competition, which will be hosted by Messenger Coffee Co. and The Roasterie Coffee Company.

  • Coffee Champs: The competition will be held at Messenger Coffee Co. + Ibis Bakery (1624 Grand Blvd) from Friday at 8 am through Sunday at 5 pm. The competition is still looking for judges and volunteers who love craft coffee!
