A Note on Yesterday’s Events
Good Morning Kansas City. KC Daily is focused on providing you with positive news, events, openings, and developments around the metro. Neighborhood Overhaul

Populous
Yesterday’s announcement of the Royals’ new stadium location brought a host of mixed reactions, with many local business owners pushing back on the proposed development.
Possible Displacement: The proposed 18-acre development would require several city blocks to be demolished to make way for the 34,000-seat stadium. Within this radius lies several small businesses and historic buildings.
Fighting the Inevitable: Many Crossroads business owners were not consulted on the development, as this site was a late entry in the list of possible locations. Now surrounded by uncertainty on the upcoming years of construction, many are unsure whether they can fight it.
In all the uncertainty, business owners and residents of the Crossroads neighborhood are left to balance fandom with livelihood.

French for Delicious: Paris Baguette is a French-inspired bakery that specializes in pastries, cakes, and sandwiches. They also offer a drink menu as well as catering services.
From Wichita, With Love: Franchisee Mike Issa operates a Paris Baguette in Wichita, and has plans to expand into the KC market yet this year. The first location will be at 95th and Nieman Road in Overland Park, with two more undetermined locations in Shawnee and Olathe.

The 2024 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships are coming to the T-Mobile Center next month.
March MATness: The Championships will take place from March 21st through the 23rd. The 3-day event will be action-packed as teams vie for both individual and team national championships.
GREAT Sports Town: March is historically a busy month for sports in downtown Kansas City, with both the men’s and women’s Big 12 Basketball Championships also taking place. The addition of this year’s wrestling championships reinforces Kansas City’s strong ability to host sporting events.
The Best of the Midwest: Kansas City is a strong geographical pick for this year’s championships, as 5 of the top 10 teams are within a 5-hour drive of Kansas City. 7th-ranked Mizzou hopes to defend its home state and take down 2-time defending champ Penn State.
