The Antler Room Makes America’s Top 50

The Antler Room has been named one of the 50 best restaurants in the nation by Wine Enthusiast.

• Wine Enthusiast Top 50: Every year, Wine Enthusiast magazine selects its top 50 restaurants based on various factors like concept and atmosphere. These restaurants are known for giving equal importance to both wine and food. The Antler Room was one of the 4 Midwest restaurants that made it to the list.

• Wine & Foods: The restaurant is known for its refined menu of creative global small plates and pasta, as well as its expansive wine. They feature over 600 wines from around the world including one of the largest selections of orange wines and international natural wines in the city.

• Other Accolades: The Antler Room has seen several awards throughout the years including Bon Appetit naming it one of the nation’s 50 best new restaurants in 2017 alongside 3 separate James Beard nominations for best chef in the Midwest.

KC’s Health Is In Good Hands

Four hospitals in the Kansas City area have been ranked among the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

• The Fantastic Four: The four hospitals in the Kansas City area that were ranked among the best in the nation are the University of Kansas Health System, Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City, North Kansas City Hospital, and Saint Luke's East Hospital.

• Rock Chalk: The University of Kansas Hospital led the metro peers with eight nationally ranked adult specialties and two high-performing adult specialties including a top 25 finish for for neurology and neurosurgery.

• The Scale: U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals across 15 specialties and 21 procedures and conditions to identify the top 484 hospitals in the country, which were then recognized as "Best Hospitals."

Opening

The Copps Are Coming

Copp’s Pizza, the Omaha-based restaurant chain, is opening its fourth location in the KC Metro.

• Homecoming: Kristopher Copp, owner of Copp’s Pizza, is originally from the Kansas City area and seems to be very excited to bring his growing restaurant chain back to share with family and friends.

• A Cult Classic: Opening originally in Omaha as strictly a pizza chain, Copp’s Pizza quickly saw growth from a fanatical fan base that allowed it to offer over 100 menu items including burgers, burnt-end nachos, and Omaha-fed steaks.

• More Than Pizza: Copp stresses that beyond serving excellent pizza, his main focus is to provide an excellent atmosphere for families to come and enjoy a meal. As they expand that vision, they have sponsored several sports teams and even a racecar driver.

Copp plans to hire roughly 50 to 60 team members for the new location, with a planned opening the week of Aug. 21. The first location will be at 6301 W. 135th St. in Overland Park, near Scheels Sporting Goods.
