National WWI Museum Set to Debut Liberty’s Beacon Installation

National WWI Museum & Memorial

Liberty's Beacon debuts publicly on Friday, September 25th — a stunning new outdoor light and sound installation that transforms the Liberty Memorial Tower into an artist’s canvas.

  • The Beacons Are Lit: Liberty’s Beacon brings seven weekends of light, sound, and motion with the help of world-renowned artists Xavier de Richemont, Leslie Epsztein, Camille Gross, and Onionlab. Liberty Memorial comes to life with an 8 to 10-minute visual and auditory experience, each paired with a custom-composed score. Created to celebrate both the Museum and Memorial's centennial and America's 250th anniversary, the project invites a new generation to Remember Forward.

  • Room with a View: Viewings are free to the public on the North Lawn, just bring a blanket or a picnic. The show starts at 7:30pm and repeats every 15 minutes until the last showing at 10:30pm each weekend night. Liberty’s Beacon runs through Veteran’s Day on November 11th.

Everything you need to know about Liberty’s Beacon can be found HERE.
