Jason Bourne Comes to Kansas City in New Thriller
Bestselling author Brian Freeman brings Jason Bourne to Kansas City in his latest thriller, and J. Rieger & Co. Distillery plays a starring role.
Tour to Thriller: After touring the historic Kansas City distillery in 2024, Freeman was so impressed that he asked permission to feature it in Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Revenge. The result? Two full chapters set at the distillery, complete with tasting notes, building descriptions, and a chase sequence through the barrel warehouse.
Chase & Release: Rainy Day Books is hosting the official book release event at J. Rieger & Co. on January 28th. Freeman will be there in person to speak, sign books, and meet guests. The book hits shelves January 20th and marks the 22nd installment in the iconic Jason Bourne series.
Each attendee will receive a hand-crafted cocktail from J. Rieger. RSVP HERE.

Opening
A New Mexican-Inspired Restaurant Coming to Prairie Village this Spring

CASA
Kansas City restaurateur Robin Krause is transforming the former Salty Iguana space at Corinth Square into CASA, a Mexican-inspired dining experience.
Personal Homecoming: For Krause, founder of Billie's Grocery and wellness-driven culinary concepts, this location holds special meaning. Salty Iguana was part of her Prairie Village upbringing and later became her son's first job. Now she's reimagining the space with her own vision: a vibrant restaurant and bar focused on bold, wellness-forward Mexican cuisine.
Beyond Tex-Mex: CASA will blend influences from Mexican, Mediterranean, and Asian cooking with coastal and Southwest desert flavors. Expect chiles, smoke, charred vegetables, layered salsas, and sauce-forward dishes featuring local meats, heirloom produce, and mindful techniques like soaking beans for better digestion.
An opening is expected this spring at 8228 Mission Road in Prairie Village.
