When Will Peak Fall Foliage Reach the KC Metro?

Although it’s not here yet, peak fall foliage colors are just around the corner in the Kansas City metro!
Peak My Interest: According to an interactive map from Explore Fall, estimates are that the color change will start in the Kansas City metro in early October, specifically, October 4-5. Peak fall colors are estimated for the first week of November, specifically, November 1-2.
According to this map, the Rocky Mountains are already experiencing moderate color change. Weekend mountain trip, anyone?

Bourbon in the Park Returns to Downtown Parkville on September 26th

Get ready to celebrate America’s native spirit at Bourbon in the Park, presented by Rose Productions and Holladay Distillery, at English Landing Park in downtown Parkville on Saturday, September 26th.
Midwest Spirit: Now in its second year, Bourbon in the Park celebrates Bourbon Heritage Month (September) as well as the Midwest’s connection to producing the spirit. Much of the corn used by bourbon producers is grown here in the Midwest, and Missouri is home to Independent Stave Company, the world's largest barrel manufacturer.
Raise a Glass: GA admission covers samples from 45+ bourbons, appetizers from Chef Andrew Longres of Acre, a Glencairn tasting glass, and live music. Curated experiences throughout the evening include hand-rolled cigars by Master Tobacconist Danica Baird of Baird Cigars, a VIP bottle whiskey ring toss, and a lemonade stand. A portion of proceeds will benefit Veterans Community Project, a KC-based organization serving veterans through transitional tiny homes and comprehensive support services.

Three Things You May Have Missed From the Chiefs’ Home Opener

The Chiefs opened the 2026 campaign in convincing fashion, beating division rival Denver Broncos 31-10 on Monday night. The storylines extended beyond the field, so here are three things of note before we move on to week two:
The Chiefs’ new RB Kenneth Walker rushed for 173 yards, which is the most by any player in a game started by Patrick Mahomes. A dangerous combo.
Taylor Swift was in attendance supporting her new husband, and was seen sitting with Tom Cruise. She also skipped the Emmy Awards to be at Arrowhead. Travis’ #1 fan!
The Monday Night Countdown Crew surprised Lee’s Summit Firefighter of the Year Adam Greeno with two tickets to Super Bowl LXI in an on-screen moment before the game. Adam, if you’re reading this, I’ll be your +1.
The Chiefs are back in action this Sunday, when they welcome the Indianapolis Colts to Arrowhead.
