The Great Super Bowl Migration

KC Daily
Happy Tuesday, Kansas City! With the Chiefs’ ticket to the Super Bowl punched, airlines are adding flights to Las Vegas to handle the demand.
It’s Time To Fly: United Airlines was the first to add flights, announcing they will add 6 direct flights from KC to Las Vegas. United is running its biggest flight special ever, adding over 40 directs to Vegas and flying larger planes which adds room for nearly 14,000 passengers.
Let Good Take Flight: American Airlines was the next to follow suit, adding 7 additional flights. Both airlines are putting the flights under fun names like AA 1987, an homage to Taylor Swift’s album 1987.
Take Out A Second Mortgage: Now that flights are out of the way, you may want to start counting every quarter that fell into your couch as tickets are starting at $6,000 on Stubhub.
All flights will be from February 8-13 and promise to be loaded with Chiefs fans. The teams will likely arrive on the 3rd or 4th to be in Nevada for Super Bowl Media Day on February 5th.

The Bo’s Are Back In Town

Taylor Wilmore, Startland News
3 years after shutting the doors of Bo Lings City Market location, the owners are opening a new, fast-casual Chinese restaurant in the River Market named Bo’s Kitchen.
Grab-N-Go: In 2021, Richard and Theresa Ng were forced to close their City Market location of Bo Lings Chinese restaurant. Now, they are ready to try it again with a new model built around patrons who are interested in a more take-and-go style of dining.
Small But Mighty: Bo’s Kitchen at 108 E. 5th Street will offer a smaller menu of favorites only such as Dan Dan Noodles, Bo’s Ginger Chicken, Bo’s Sesame Chicken, and a limited few others.
Chinese Legacy: In 1981, the Ng family started their first Bo Lings with just $5,000 and a desire to serve and feed people. Now, after years of adapting and growing, they have 5 Bo Lings locations and Bo’s Kitchen.
Bo’s Kitchen recently opened and serves fast-casual meals Tuesday-Sunday from 11 am to 8 pm, closing early at 7 pm on Sundays.

Giving Macy A Face Lift

Kansas City Business Journal
After remaining vacant inside the Prairie Village shops since 2020, the building which once housed a Macy’s Department Store is getting a host of new tenants.
Flipping PV: First Washington Realty, Inc. owns the Shops at Prairie Village and has been renovating the space to welcome more shops and office space. The proposed November opening has since been postponed.
Gym, Hen, Laundry?: While developers have remained tight-lipped about what stores would take up residence, recent reports have hinted that one will be a Hen House Market. Reports have also surfaced that a Genesis Gym had fallen through.
Mystery Space: Developers have been clear that the space will be a multi-tenant development with a grocery store only taking up one floor. No sign has been given as to the other possible retailers slotted for the space.
After missing the initial opening date in November 2023, First Washington Realty is hoping to announce more details in the coming months.
