Getting Homefield Advantage

Homefield LLC
Happy Wednesday, Kansas City! This week, Wyandotte County's $838 million Homefield project received the tax incentives it needed for development.
Never Bored Again: The project includes a Margaritaville hotel, Big Shots golf bar, an indoor arena with Live Nation, an interactive museum named Atlas 9, and more.
2% Adds Up: The 2% community improvement district(CID) tax incentives will benefit the developer with up to $59 million in revenue over 22 years.
Expensive Ballpark: The Unified Government also issued $65 million in industrial revenue bonds (IRB) for Homefield's indoor multi-sport training facility and allocated $45 million in IRBs for the youth baseball complex.
While there have been several changes to the initial plan, Turner Construction has been hard at work to unveil the first phases of Homefield by this year.
