KC Star

After closing its doors during Covid, Italian Delight by Avelluto will continue its nearly 40-year-old legacy at a new location.

  • Don’t Change The Recipe: Italian Delight by Avelluto had served authentic Italian in Johnson County since 1977. Now, it plans to come back with a few new tweaks.

  • New Name, Same Taste: Opening inside the former Mission d’Bronx space at 6846 Johnson Drive, owner John Avelluto will reopen his Italian Restaurant with a smaller menu and a new name, Avelluto’s.

  • Italy Comes To Joco: Avelluto’s will maintain many of the same recipes as Italian Delight, such as the Pizza and Italian meatballs, and cut out some of the other dishes. His goal is to make it feel like you’re living in Italy or the East Coast.

John hopes to have Avelluto’s at 6846 Johnson Drive open by mid-April or early May.
