Three Traders: This new location at 8700 Shawnee Mission Pkwy will be the third Trader Joe’s in the metro, joining Ward Parkway in KCMO and Leawood. The new store is a part of a larger, $102 million development on the north side of Shawnee Mission Parkway.

I ❤️ Joe: Trader Joe’s is known for its cult-like following across the country. It is ranked #1 in the American Customer Satisfaction Index retail report, and it even releases its own Customer Choice Awards Winners each year, showcasing customers’ favorite products.

Best on the Sand: Six elite teams will compete, three men's and three women's, including 11 Olympians like Phil Dalhausser, Carli Lloyd, Taylor Crabb, Sara Hughes, and more. Two local teams (one men's and one women's) have qualified to take the sand in a once-in-a-lifetime shot to compete against the pros.

Legends Play: The showdown is being put on by Royals legend George Brett, AVP Hall of Famer Steve Obradovich, and SMBV owner Lance Windholz. General Admission is $30 for sand seating and bleachers, with VIP table packages still available featuring air-conditioned clubhouse access and player lounge meet-and-greets. A live DJ, beer garden, food trucks, and merch will also be on-site.

On The Trail: Free and mobile-friendly, the self-guided trail features 12 Wyandotte County BBQ stops, including Joe's Kansas City, Slap's, Rosedale Bar-B-Q, Woodyard Bar-B-Que, and more, plus bonus stops at the American Royal and Nebraska Furniture Mart's Grill & Outdoor Section. Since launching last year, the trail has seen 1,700+ pass downloads and 850+ check-ins.

Birthday Present Prize: Trail-goers who complete five stops by September 1st will score an invitation and a shot at a grand prize package worth more than $1,000, including a Napoleon Freestyle 365 3-Burner Gas Grill from Nebraska Furniture Mart.

🌮 Shell You Later: Session Taco announced it will close its doors in the East Crossroads. Its last day of service will be this Sunday, August 30th.

🩷 For Dolly: On Tuesday night, Union Station lit up in pink to honor the passing of country music icon and Imagination Library founder Dolly Parton.

🍗 Temporary BBQ: Recently-closed BBQ spot Harp Barbecue will return temporarily for a pop-up event at Warehouse on Broadway on Saturday, September 5th.
