Weekend Roundup

KC Daily
Happy Friday, Kansas City! Here are our picks for things going on around the metro this weekend:
Kansas City Restaurant Week: Our favorite week of the year to enjoy discounted food from the best restaurants in town is finally here! Hooray!
Monster Jam: Do you like watching large trucks do ridiculous stunts and crush smaller cars in the process? Of course you do!
Kansas City Tattoo Expo: Come experience KC’s first tattoo expo hosted by Ink Matters. Meet tattoo artists, swap ideas, and maybe get a new tattoo!
Wizarding Wine Flights: If you can’t fly to Universal this weekend, you might as well try some Harry Potter-inspired wine flights and snacks.
Chiefs v Dolphins: Look, we know it will be cold… but tickets are starting at $60. Wouldn’t Patrick and Travis show up for you?

Three Light KC
This week, RentCafe released an analysis that showed Kansas City and Overland Park as two of the hottest rental markets in the US.
Top 10, Baby!: RentCafe, a publication geared toward empowering renters across the country, compiled a list of the hottest rental markets in the US. Kansas City was ranked 2nd on the list while Overland Park placed 10th. KC was the only metro with two cities on the list.
Going to Need a 4 Light Soon: Several times in 2023, Kansas City saw the most rental activity according to RentCafe. Last year saw a 63% increase in page views for apartments in Kansas City.
Rocking The Suburbs: Overland Park placed #10 on the last thanks to placing second for rental activity during June and October. The city saw a 28% uptick in searches and had 22% more personalized searches saved by apartment hunters.
There are several macroeconomic takeaways you can pull from this list, but the most clear is that the Midwest, and specifically the KC metro, is seeing an increase in rental demand not yet seen in this part of the country.
