The Kansas City Symphony to Build a New Music Venue in South Plaza
The Kansas City Symphony has announced plans for a brand-new, 4,600-seat indoor music venue in the South Plaza neighborhood.
Plaza Performances: The unnamed venue will host over 100 annual events, with the majority being national touring artists across genres, plus a few dozen Symphony performances. With 300,000+ expected annual visitors, it will serve as a significant anchor to a walkable district filled with restaurants and nightlife, just steps from the Country Club Plaza.
Second Home: The Symphony will wholly own the new venue and contract with Music and Event Management, Inc. (MEMI) to operate it. MEMI, a subsidiary of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Meanwhile, Helzberg Hall at the Kauffman Center remains the Symphony's orchestral home, with its robust 100+ performance annual schedule continuing unchanged.
The venue will be located at 4901 Main Street and targets a 2028 opening. Read the full release from the KC Symphony HERE.

Boulevard to Plant Trees, Clean Parks, and Give Away Royals Tickets This Earth Month
Boulevard Brewing is back with a loaded lineup of sustainability initiatives throughout April in partnership with the Kansas City Royals, the Arbor Day Foundation, and KC Parks.
Moonshots for Mother Earth: For the second season, Boulevard and the Royals are planting 420 trees for every "moonshot" home run hit by a Royals player this season, defined as a homer of 420 feet or more. Last season the initiative resulted in more than 10,000 trees planted. To get involved locally, anyone who volunteers for a KC Parks cleanup shift between April 1 and 15 will receive a complimentary pair of tickets to the Earth Day Royals game on April 22nd at 1:10pm.
Beer & Baseball: April 22nd also marks the return of Space Camper Day, with the first 7,500 fans 21 and older receiving Royals x Space Camper color-changing sunglasses. Boulevard will offer complimentary Space Camper IPA Saga samples at the Space Camper Space Station Bar near section 420, plus a chance to win a three-foot Space Camper bobblehead.

All 150 Parade of Hearts Sculptures Are Coming Together for One Day Only
For the first and only time, all 150 sculptures from the 2026 Parade of Hearts will be displayed together at the "150 United" showcase event at the Overland Park Convention Center on Saturday, April 4th from 10am to 4pm.
At the Heart: This is the only chance to see all 150 sculptures in one place before they spread out across more than 50 communities throughout the KC region. The event features meet-and-greets with selected artists, family-friendly activities, games, and interactive experiences celebrating KC's creative community. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 3 to 11, with kids under 2 free.
Support Local Art: The 2026 Parade of Hearts represents a $375,000 investment in local artists, with each selected "Heartist" receiving a $2,500 stipend. This year's edition also debuts a newly redesigned heart sculpture: larger and circular in form, symbolizing unity, with a signature keyhole representing openness and connection.
Advance ticket purchase for “150 United” is recommended. Get them HERE.
