Happy Friday! Here are 13 things to do around Kansas City this weekend:
All Weekend Long
🪄 The Wiz brings its groundbreaking twist on The Wizard of Oz to the stage at Municipal Auditorium Music Hall with five shows throughout the weekend.
⚾️ The Royals host a three-game series against the New York Mets at Kauffman Stadium, with Military Day set for Saturday and Mizzou Day set for Sunday.
💡 Acellus World, a three-day celebration of STEM programs for students, parents, and educators, will feature carnival rides, educational sessions, and live entertainment to the Acellus Conference Center at 10800 N. Ambassador Dr.
Friday
🌪️ WeekEnder kicks off tonight at Crown Center Square with live music from Damien Gunn Band at 6pm, followed by a free screening of Twisters around 9pm.*
🪕 Grab your picnics, blankets, and lawn chairs and catch a live concert from the Knobtown Skiffle Band at The Museum of Kansas City from 7-9pm.*
🚦 Zona Rosa hosts Summer Concerts in the Park tonight from 6:30-8:30pm with live music from Right on Red.

🎨 The Leedy-Voulkos Art Center (2012 Baltimore Ave) will host an Artist Talk with Anne Garney at 1pm as she highlights her colorful travels on canvas.
⚽️ Round one of the Teal Rising Cup features two international matches at CPKC Stadium: Chicago Stars vs. Corinthians SC at 4:30pm, followed by Kansas City Current vs. Palmeiras at 8pm.
🐶 Grab your furry friends and head to J. Rieger & Co. for Pepper’s 10th Birthday Pawty from 12-3pm. There will be frozen treats, dog-themed crafts, doggie massages, and more!

🌀 The 2025 KC Fringe Festival kicks off a two-week celebration of arts and culture featuring live performances, visual art, and film throughout the metro.
🎳 Summit Lanes in Lee’s Summit (803 SW Oldham Parkway) hosts Back to the 50’s from 12-5pm. A $6 cover charge gets you $0.50 games, hot dogs, soda, and shoe rentals.

Martin City Tavern Opens in South Plaza
Here’s a slice of good news for your Friday: Martin City Tavern is officially open at 4950 Main St. in the South Plaza.
South Plaza Slices: The South Plaza Tavern took over the former Spin Pizza space which closed in January, and is Martin City’s 9th metro location. This new location features Martin City’s signature pizzas, alongside handhelds, entrees, wings, and more.
