KC2026 Reveals Regional Transportation Plan for FIFA World Cup
Yesterday, KC2026 revealed ConnectKC26, a regional transportation plan designed to move visitors and residents during the 2026 FIFA World Cup next summer. The plan introduced three direct motorcoach services:
Region Direct: Daily service connecting the FIFA Fan Festival at the National WWI Museum and Memorial to 15 key regional sites with service every 20 minutes.
Stadium Direct: Match day service for ticket holders, offering rides to Kansas City Stadium (Arrowhead) from the FIFA Fan Festival and four park-and-ride locations: Highway 40, Independence Center, North Kansas City, and Oak Park Mall.
Airport Direct: Daily service running every 15 minutes between downtown Kansas City, Missouri, and KCI.
Currently, KC2026 has 215 buses ready for service (each bus holds 53 people), but will need more prior to next summer. Services open soon, but for a detailed look at ConnectKC26, check out this video. 👇
