Ruff Night: On the evening of March 6th, Rieger landed on the tent covering J. Rieger & Co.'s outdoor garden bar, with staff suspecting he was thrown from a nearby bridge. He spent the entire night wandering the tent and part of the roof before staff arrived the next morning, coaxed him down with chicken, and called Kansas City Animal Services for a two-hour rescue operation.

From Roof to Home: KC Pet Project named him after the distillery that helped save him, and Rieger is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and goes home with a free bag of food on adoption day. He's currently available for same-day adoption at KC Pet Project's main campus in Swope Park.

Tall Proposal: The project at 934 Central St. is being planned by Miami-based Revitalization Unlimited and designed by Chicago's renowned Skidmore Owings and Merrill (SOM). The project will not seek a tax incentive, meaning a potential annual tax contribution of several million dollars to the city

Data & Coffee: At 384 feet, the slender tower would be the tallest of the recently proposed downtown high-rises, featuring a red brick, glass, and metal facade designed to blend with the surrounding neighborhood. The ground floor will include a 4,440 sq. ft. commercial space ideal for a restaurant or cafe. Data center IT racks will fill the floors above, with ventilation levels positioned high to minimize noise and heat at street level.
