Baseball is back, and so is the weekend! Here are 10 things to do around town:

• ⚾️ Boys in Blue: Opening Day may be in the rear-view mirror, but Opening Weekend continues as the Royals host the Cleveland Guardians at the K on Saturday at 3:10, and Sunday at 1:10.

• 🩰 Dancing Don: The Kansas City Ballet presents three performances of Don Quixote this weekend at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

• 🥁 Metronome at the Museum: The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art opens a new exhibit today called Stan Douglas: Metronome. The Canadian-born artist’s work investigates the intersection of technology, image-making, and collective memory.

• 🏀 Downtown Dunks: The Harlem Globetrotters make their way to the court at the T-Mobile Center on Saturday at 2 pm as a part of their 2025 World Tour. Is this the year the Washington Generals finally get their revenge?

• 🪐 Alien Awareness: The Linda Hall Library hosts Life Beyond Earth, an exhibition exploring the history of the possibility of extraterrestrial life. The exhibition is on display now through June.

• 🏃 Run for Liberty: This Saturday, the Liberty Half Marathon/Jewell 5K takes off from the William Jewell College campus near downtown Liberty, with the half marathon starting at 8 and the Jewell 5K starting at 8:45.

• 🎞️ On Film: The Kansas City FilmFest International is happening all weekend long at the AMC Ward Parkway 14. Check out the full schedule of events and showings HERE.

• ⚽️ Soccer in the Streets: Copa de Calle, Kansas City’s first ever street soccer tennis cup, takes to the Crossroads and River Market this Saturday and Sunday! The action takes place in the City Market from 11-2, and at Made Mobb from 2-4 each day.

• 🎸 Rock, Engage: The Midland Theatre in downtown Kansas City welcomes American rock band Killswitch Engage on sunday night at 6:30.

• 💍 Opera for Families: The Lyric Opera of Kansas City presents ‘Maya and the Magic Ring’, at the Johnson County Community College. Public shows are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm.

After over 820 votes in round one, we’ve narrowed town the 2025 BBQ Bracket to the final four! Here were the round one results:

• #1 Q39 (75%) defeated #8 LC’s (25%)

• #2 Joe’s KC (88%) defeated Char Bar (12%)

• #3 Jack Stack (74%) defeated Gates (26%)

• #5 Slap’s (61%) defeated #4 Arthur Bryant’s (39%)

The Final Four is set! #1 Q39 vs. #5 Slap’s and #2 Joe’s KC vs. #3 Jack Stack. Voting is open now, and the winners will face off in the championship beginning next Friday.
