A New Tiki Bar is Now Open in the Crossroads
The highly-anticipated Kon Tiki Bar is now open at 1922 Baltimore Ave. in the Crossroads.
Slice of the Tropics: The bar is the newest addition to the Tiki bar scene in Kansas City, featuring Polynesian decor and drinkware alongside colorful and tropical-inspired cocktails.
Tiki & Tacos: Wondering what popped up next door with the beautiful, mural-covered blue building? The concept also includes Conchita Tacos right next door, serving up authentic street tacos on handmade tortillas.
Kon Tiki is still working on official hours, but follow along on their Instagram to stay up-to-date on when they are open!

City Union Mission is Celebrating 100 Years
City Union Mission is celebrating 100 years of serving the homeless community in Kansas City this month at its Hope Beyond Gala.
Celebrate the Change: Since 1924, City Union Mission has been offering shelter, programs, health services, and more to our city’s homeless population. On any given night, Kansas City has nearly 1,800 people
100 Years: The Hope Beyond Gala will take place on Sunday, September 15th, at 5 p.m. at The Abbott in the Crossroads. All proceeds from the event will support City Union Mission, and former Kansas Jayhawk basketball star Wayne Simien will be the guest speaker.

Celebrate 30 Years of The Sandlot With the Cast in Kansas City
“You’re killing me, Smalls!” might be one of the most memorable sports movie quotes of all time. At the end of September, you can hear that quote with your own ears in Kansas City at The Sandlot - 30th Anniversary with the Cast.
Kids on Tour: The 30th Anniversary will be celebrated at the Midland Theater in Kansas City on September 28th at 7 pm. Kansas City is one of six stops across the country for the 30th Anniversary tour of The Sandlot as a part of the Hollywood on Broadway series.
Babe Ruth?!: The event will feature a showing of the film, followed by a question-and-answer session with the cast. Get an inside scoop on the filming of the classic, or ask Squints what it was really like kissing Wendy Peffercorn.
