The Chiefs Kick Off the 2025 Season This Friday in São Paulo, Brazil
Vamos lá Chiefs! It’s time to brush up on your Portuguese, because the Chiefs kick off the 2025 season this Friday, September 5th, in São Paulo, Brazil.
(South) America’s Team: The Chiefs will take on AFC West rival Los Angeles Chargers at Arena Corinthians at 7pm. This is just the second game in NFL history to be played in Brazil, following the Green Bay Packers vs. Philadelphia Eagles on September 6th, 2024. The game will be broadcast live on YouTube.
Kansas City Globetrotters: The Chiefs are coming off a 15-2 season and look to build off their Super Bowl LIX loss to the Eagles with in an international start to the 2025 season. The Chiefs will make the 5300+ mile trek this Wednesday, and the guys are already poking fun at Travis Kelce for not knowing how far away Brazil really is.
Looking for a (very) last minute getaway? Tickets to the game start around $240, but a flight from MCI for this weekend is north of $1,600.

🤦♂️ Correction: In Friday’s newsletter, we incorrectly stated that it would have been Jimmy Buffett’s 105th birthday on Friday, August 29th (Jimmy Buffett Day). We meant to say it would have been Charlie Parker’s 105th birthday, which was also celebrated across Kansas City last Friday.
