The Votes are In!

Populous

Last night, Jackson County residents voted against extending the 3/8-cent sales tax which would have helped fund the proposed Royals stadium in the Crossroads as well as the renovations to Arrowhead Stadium.

  • The People Have Spoken: The “No” vote won in convincing fashion with a 58%-42% victory, or roughly 13,000 votes. The Royals and Chiefs conceded defeat around 9 PM last night.

  • So, Now What?: Well…we’ll see! Both Royals owner John Sherman and Chiefs President Mark Donovan said they are committed to finding a path forward for what’s “best interest of our fans and our organization.”

Amidst all the buzz from the polls, the Royals beat the Orioles last night 4-1.
