Cornucopia of Fun

Happy Monday, Kansas City! This weekend, the Power and Light District will host Cornucopia, KC’s ultimate fall festival.

• Fall Fun: Presented by PNC Bank, Cornucopia is a fall festival in the Power and Light District that features live music, carnival rides, fall foods, pony rides, local artisans, and more.

• For The Fam: Families will love all the amenities geared toward children! Face painting, pony rides, carnival rides like a Ferris wheel and merry-go-round, and pumpkin carving are perfect for kids(and adults) of all ages.

• Sip and Listen: This event is also perfect for adults just looking to enjoy fall ~vibes~ too. Grab a seat and a spiked cider at either stage with live music going on all weekend.

The free Cornucopia event starts this Friday from 5-9 pm and continues on Saturday from 11-9 and Sunday from 12-6.

Bouncing Into The Weekend

The world’s largest bounce house is coming to Lee’s Summit this weekend, and I’m having a hard time comprehending how big it is.

• Bouncing In Your Step: The Big Bounce America Tour will stop this weekend at the Paragon Star Entertainment Complex in Lee’s Summit Friday through Sunday with tickets available for people of all ages.

• So. Much. Space.: The World’s Biggest Bounce House, which stands 32 feet tall and covers 16,000 square feet, is only one of the 4 inflatables available, but the only one that requires a time slot.

• Sports, Aliens, & Races: The other three inflatables offer unlimited access. In order, they are: the Giant, a 900-ft relay race, the Air Space, which features friendly aliens, and the Sports Slam, featuring nets, hoops, and balls of all sizes.

Tickets, including age-appropriate family sessions, are available on The Big Bounce America’s website. The Event will start Friday and offer 3 hours of free play for each $22 ticket.

Halftime For OP’s Sports Complex

Overland Park's Bluhawk development has hit the halfway mark for its colossal youth sports complex, a part of the $1 billion mixed-use project by Price Brothers Management Co.

• Changing Youth Sports: The first phase, priced at $72 million, boasts several volleyball courts, four basketball courts, and an indoor turf field, making it a premier destination for young athletes.

• Sporty Centerpiece: This sports hub anchors Bluhawk's 277-acre mixed-use complex, bringing not just sports facilities but also retail spaces, restaurants, apartments, offices, and hotel rooms to Overland Park, creating a vibrant community space and boosting the local economy.

• Education Hub: The facility will also provide fitness classes, sports medicine treatments, and teaching sessions on nutrition and physical therapy.

The AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk is slated to be completed sometime in 2024. The original date set for March 2024 has been delayed due to complications during the pandemic.
