Kansas City Considered for the 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup
The 2026 FIFA World Cup hasn’t even arrived yet, and Kansas City is already in the running to host another World Cup.
Double the Cups: Kansas City is one of 14 cities being considered to host the 2031 FIFA Women’s Cup. A joint bid has been proposed to FIFA by the U.S., Mexico, Costa Rica, and Jamaica for 2031, and is currently the only bidder.
Soccer Capital: Arrowhead Stadium was named the primary location for Kansas City, but CPKC Stadium was also named as a selling point for the city, being the world’s first stadium purpose-built for women’s sports. Of the 14 U.S. cities named, Kansas City is the second-smallest metropolitan area, behind Nashville.
FIFA expects to appoint a host by April 2026, with city selection not expected until late 2026.
