The Collective Boutiques is Opening in the Former Painted Tree Space in Overland Park

Painted Tree Boutiques

Just a few months after the abrupt overnight closure of Painted Tree Boutiques, The Collective Boutiques is reopening the same Overland Park space.

  • New Doors Open: After the abrupt closure in April, Painted Tree Boutiques left hundreds of local makers scrambling to recover their merchandise. Now, the shop at 8500 W. 135th St. will reopen under new ownership, with plans to expand to a dozen new locations nationwide in Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, and Colorado in the coming months.

  • A Second Chance: The Collective operates on a co-op model: vendors lease individual spaces, style their own displays, and keep their sales minus a flat 10% commission. The company staffs and manages the store, so sellers don't have to be on-site.

According to The Collective Boutiques’ website, a soft opening is scheduled for August 15th and a grand opening on September 12th.
