📚 Crawl & Read: The Kansas City Booksellers Association is hosting a Kansas City Cozy Book Crawl on Saturday. The event will allow you to explore KC’s vibrant bookstore scene with a KCBA Passport, which are available at any participating bookstore.
🏒 Ice Sabers: On Saturday night, the KC Mavericks will play against the Savannah Ghost Pirates at Cable Dahmer Arena. The game will have a Star Wars theme, and there will be a Lightsaber giveaway!
🥃 Sip & Swing: The Strawberry Swing Indie Craft Fair hosts The 14th Annual Holiday Swing at J. Rieger & Co. The handmade shopping experience celebrates local makers this Saturday (11-7) and Sunday (11-4).
🧪 Christmas in the Lab: Saturday is Merry Science Day in Science City at Union Station. The day kicks off at 10:30 am and features a variety of festive experiments throughout the day!
🍺 Beers for Benefit: On Saturday from 2-6 pm, various bars throughout the Power and Light District and Westport will participate in 12 Bars of Charity, a pub crawl benefitting local charities.
🕯️ Candle Concert: The Gem Theater is hosting Candlelight: Christmas Carols on Strings tonight at 6:30 and 8:45 pm. The multi-sensory concert features Christmas classics performed by the Fountain City Quartet under the lights of thousands of candles.
🎄 Wish for Westport: Saturday is the Westport Christmas Market from 10-5! The tradition features local Kansas City makers, warm festive beverages, live music, and more!
🎅 Sweet Santa: Santa Claus is visiting two Betty Rae’s locations on Saturday! Jolly Old St. Nick will visit the Prairie Village shop from noon - 2 pm, and the Waldo shop from 4-6 pm.
🩰 Nutcracker Nights: Don’t miss one of Kansas City’s best holiday traditions, The Nutcracker by the Kansas City Ballet! There will be five shows throughout this weekend.

Opening
Booth Creek Wagyu Sets Opening Date for New Shop in Prairie Village
Prairie Village, it’s nice to meat you. Booth Creek Wagyu is opening its newest retail location this coming Monday, December 16th.
Meat Me in PV: The shop will be located at 5238 W 95th. St. in Meadowbrook Village. This will be Booth Creek’s fourth retail location and second in the Kansas City metro. The first is at 13412 Metcalf Ave. in Overland Park.
Where’s the Beef?: Booth Creek, based in the Flint Hills near Manhattan, produces some of the finest beef in America. Nearly all the product is graded above USDA prime and it’s the only Wagyu producer in the country to rate its cuts on a marbling scale so customers can choose their favorite flavor profile similar to wine or whiskey.
The shop opens at 10 am on Monday, and the first 100 customers will receive a free pound of premium ground Wagyu!

Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens Honored by USA Today
The Luminary Walk at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens was recently named among the best botanical gardens with holiday lights in the U.S.
The Best in Lights: The USA Today 10Best asked editors and readers to vote on the best botanical gardens with holiday lights from across the country, and the Luminary Walk came in at #3. The only two experiences to earn more votes were the Galaxy of Lights at Huntsville Botanical Gardens ( Huntsville, AL) and Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden (Richmond, VA).
Illuminated Experience: The Luminary Walk is celebrating its 25th year this season and offers three unique experiences: The Luminary Walk, an adults-only candlelight stroll, and Electric Glow. The lights will be on display through December 30th.
Tickets range from $12-$17 and can be found HERE.
