Morton Amphitheater in Riverside Announces First Three Shows

Live Nation

The highly anticipated new amphitheater in Riverside will officially be named Morton Amphitheater, and has announced its first three shows for next summer.

  • Why So Salty?: The 16,000-seat amphitheater (12,000 are covered) will open in 2026 at 6150 NW Music Blvd in Riverside and is expected to host more than 30 concerts per year. Morton Salt, which relocated its headquarters to Overland Park in late 2024, secured the naming rights to the venue.

  • First on Stage: Morton Amphitheater has also announced the first three shows taking the stage starting next summer. Rod Stewart will perform the first-ever concert at the venue on Saturday, August 15th. 5 Seconds of Summer will perform on August 20th, followed by Jack Johnson on September 1st.

Hemma Hemma to Open Second Location in Downtown KCMO

Hemma Hemma

Waldo-favorite eatery Hemma Hemma will open a second location in downtown Kansas City.

  • Downtown Diner: The new location will be called Hemma Hemma Dinette, and open inside the Lightwell building (1100 Main St.), replacing the former Strang Chef Collective space. The new restaurant will have a retro diner flair, and hopes to someday feature an outdoor patio.

  • Play the Hits: The menu will feature breakfast, brunch, and lunch items similar to the menu at the Waldo locations. It will feature a few new diner-inspired items, such as a burger, steak & eggs, milkshakes, and Donna Kelce-approved cinnamon rolls.

Hemma Hemma Dinette is expected to open in February 2026. Follow along for updates!
