The Women’s Cup is Coming to Kansas City

The Women’s Cup
The Women’s Cup, a soccer tournament that includes professional women’s teams from around the globe, will come to Kansas City in August.
To the States: There will be two editions this summer of The Women’s Cup. The first is at Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky August 9-13, and the second at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City August 14-17.
For the Cup: The annual tournament has featured 4 teams in the past, featuring teams from the NWSL as well as international clubs. The reigning champion is NJ/NY Gotham FC, who won this past tournament in Cali, Colombia.

Game-Themed Bar Coming to Waldo

Bar & Rec
A local game-themed bar based in Westport is expanding to Waldo.
Games and Beers: Bar & Rec opened its first location in Westport in October of 2023 and features 100+ beers and 50+ games. The fun space includes Skee-Ball, Ping-Pong, Beer Pong tables, arcade games, and much more.
Where’s Waldo: The new location in Waldo will be at 7439 Broadway St, taking over the former Johnny Kaw’s space. Bar & Rec also provides space for private events, happy hours, and table reservations.
A grand opening date has not been announced, but follow Bar & Rec on Instagram to be kept up to date on the Waldo location.

Chingu to Launch Soju Spirit Produced in Kansas City

Keeyoung Kim and David Son, owners of Westport Korean restaurant Chingu, are launching Chingu Soju.
What is Soju?: Soju is a clear and colorless Korean spirit distilled from rice. Chingu Soju will be distilled in collaboration with Mean Mule Distilling and will be the first-ever Soju distilled in the Midwest.
Get Ready: What started as an at-home project during the COVID-19 pandemic soon became a reality for Kim and Son. The first batch release will be extremely limited and can be purchased at Chingu in Westport on April 2nd.

Kansas City Monarchs Strike Local Partnership

Legends Field
The Kansas City Monarchs have named a local partner as their Official Ticket Marketplace.
No Fees: The Monarchs have partnered with Overland Park-based Tickets For Less to become the Official Ticket Marketplace starting with the 2024 season. Tickets For Less is a no-fee ticket provider, meaning the price you see is the price you pay for tickets.
Play Ball!: The partnership with T4L comes as the Monarchs prepare to play their 21st season at Legends Field in KCK. The Monarchs play in the American Association of Professional Baseball, and MLB Partner League.
