Introducing the KC Daily Mail Club! 📬
KC Daily is going from the inbox to your mailbox! We’re excited to introduce the KC Daily Mail Club, a monthly snail mail club designed to bring local creativity and community straight to your mailbox.
You’ve Got Mail: Once a month, Mail Club members will receive a curated envelope filled with Kansas City goodness. Each month will revolve around a different theme, with our first-ever drop being KC BBQ! Although designs will change each month, here’s a sneak peek at what will be included:
A 5”×7” print from a local artist
A 3”x3” sticker designed by a local artist
An activity card (recipes, scavenger hunts, local guides, playlist, etc.)
A letter written from a KC community leader
Local discounts, deals, or whatever other fun ideas we can pack into an envelope!
Why Snail Mail?: As much as we love the digital world (we are an email newsletter company, after all), we wanted to introduce a way to connect with our community in a physical way while supporting Kansas City artists, makers, and businesses. Plus, it still feels good to physically open an envelope that is packed with thought and intention, doesn’t it?
The first Mail Club will ship the first week of May. Mail Club subscriptions start at just $12/month, with 100% of proceeds supporting KC Daily, and our local artists/makers partners.
P.S. This month’s letter is written by a very special guest. Someone who may understand KC BBQ better than almost anyone else. 👀

Coffee + Metal Music: A Match Made in Waldo
A metal music-themed coffee shop is set to open in the Waldo neighborhood this spring.
Familiar Space: Apparition Coffee will open at 328 W. 85th St. in the former Second Best Coffee space, which closed in November. It will be opened by Brian Denman, a former owner of Waterbird Coffee Company in downtown Kansas City.
Rock On: The shop will feature a dark aesthetic inspired by heavy metal, with black and gray decor, gothic-style furnishings, and album artwork throughout. The menu will offer specialty coffee drinks, teas, and baked goods, all with a metal-influenced twist.
