10 Restaurants to Try in Kansas City

Farina
Happy April! The warmer weather has us ready to spend more time out in our city trying new restaurants and revisiting old favorites. We’ve revamped our 10 Restaurants to Try list for 2024 to help you find some of the best meals in Kansas City! Here’s how we decided on the ten:
WE Love It: Frankly, it would be hard to recommend a restaurant that we don’t love ourselves. That’s why we’ve eaten our way through Kansas City and been to each place on this list.
YOU Love It!: We’ve scoured websites, joined Facebook groups, held surveys, talked with friends, and plenty more to determine what other Kansas Citians think are the best restaurants in town.
GOOGLE Loves it!: There are so many places online to find restaurant ratings, and none are going to be perfect. But we’ve found that Google is our favorite and most reliable, and each place on this list is rated 4.6 or higher (out of 5).

City Market Farmer’s Market Celebrates Spring Season

KC Daily
Not much beats spending a beautiful spring Saturday morning at the Farmer’s Market supporting local farmers and businesses. And the City Market Farmer’s Market is the place to be this weekend!
Local and Fresh: Although the Farmer’s Market is open year-round, Spring is our favorite time to visit. The stalls are lined with fresh produce, local goods, flowers, and much more. In addition to the Farmer’s Market this weekend, the River Market Flea will be happening this Sunday.
Giveaway!: To celebrate the Spring season, the City Market will be giving away reusable tote bags to the 500 shoppers to visit the Farmer’s Market Information Tent at 5th and Walnut this weekend. Load up on local goods in style!
The City Market Farmer’s Market is open 8 am - 3 pm every Saturday and Sunday from now through October.

Missourians Push for Sports Betting

Bally’s Kansas City
Following the economic success of their state-line neighbor Kansas, some Missourians are pushing for sports betting to be included on the November Ballot.
Wanna Bet?: Although legislators have not signaled progress about legalizing sports betting in the Show Me State, groups are starting initiatives to get it on the ballot. Groups like Winning for Missouri Education are gathering signatures to move the initiative ahead.
A Quick Drive West: Sports betting has been legal in the state of Kansas since 2022, prompting many Missourians living in the KC metro to drive into Kansas to place mobile sports wagers. The Kansas Lottery reported over $203M in settled wagers in February 2024 alone.
