The Golden Scoop Set to Open Its Second Location
The Golden Scoop, a local ice cream + coffee shop that employs individuals with developmental disabilities, will open its second metro location on Thursday, August 22nd.
Sweet Mission: Since 2018, The Golden Scoop has been serving up smiles and ice cream from is shop at 9540 Nall Ave. in Overland Park. Now the nonprofit will open a second location at 10460 W 103rd St. in Overland Park next week.
Scoop and Score: The menu features ice cream made from scratch, baked goods, and a full coffee bar. We love supporting the mission of The Golden Scoop and think their ice cream is among the best in Kansas City!
The first 100 guests on opening day will get FREE ice cream courtesy of Academy Bank!

PGA TOUR Superstore is Now Open in Overland Park
Golfers, rejoice! The PGA TOUR Superstore at 6621 W 119th St. in Overland Park is now open.
Overland PAR(k): The former Whole Foods location has been converted to 29,000 square feet of golfers paradise. The superstore will feature ten golf simulators, a putting green, private lessons, and golf gear and apparel.
Let’s Go Golf: The store promises an excellent customer experience, in addition to offering gear from the biggest names in golf. And if you take your club to a tree after a bad shot? No worries! The superstore offers club repair with a 48-hour return time.
PGA TOUR Superstore Overland Park is open Monday-Friday 10 am - 8 pm, Saturday 9 am - 8:30 pm, and Sunday 10 am - 6 pm.

‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?’ Set to Air on October 16th
Travis Kelce is coming to your TV screen this fall. And not just on the football field.
Off the Field: Travis Kelce has had quite a year. Dating Taylor Swift, hosting one of sports’ biggest podcasts (New Heights), winning the Super Bowl, and now: playing host on Prime Video’s “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?”
On the Screen: The 20-episode series will air on Prime Video on October 16th. The show will feature an adult contestant answering elementary curriculum questions with the help of a classroom of celebrities.

The 45th Annual Ethnic Enrichment Festival is This Weekend
The 45th Annual Ethnic Enrichment Festival is bringing the world to Swope Park this Friday through Sunday.
Across the Globe: The event is put on by the Ethnic Enrichment Commission of Kansas City, which supports over 60 cultural organizations and communities. The festival at Swope Park is one of the region’s largest multicultural gatherings.
Taste the World: There will be cultural performances on stage throughout the course of the weekend, as well as ethnic food from 40 different countries. For a general idea of what the festival offers, check out this video.
General Admission is $5 at the gate, with free admission to children 12 and younger.
