Hallmark + Chiefs Team Up to Put Kansas City on the Big Screen

Two iconic Kansas City brands, Hallmark & the Chiefs, are coming together to create a film called Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.

• Imagine This: The big city girl, the strapping hometown boy, and…Patrick Mahomes? The film will blend the warmth of Hallmark storytelling with the thrill of football. It will star Tyler Hynes, Hunter King, and Ed Begley Jr.

• Hut Hut, Action!: The movie will begin filming next month and will use Kansas City and Arrowhead as filming locations. It is a joint venture between Skydance Media and the NFL and will air as a part of Hallmark’s annual “Countdown to Christmas” programming around the Holidays.

Will Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story give a nod to the true Chiefs love story between you know who? Guess we’ll wait and see!

Corvino to Swap Tasting Room for a Cocktail Lounge

Three-time James Beard Award semifinalist Michael Corvino is making some changes to his namesake restaurant. Corvino Supper Club & Tasting Room will transform the Tasting Room into a cocktail Lounge.

• Gone, But Not Forgotten: After 7 years, Corvino and his wife Christina will transform the space that offers the Four Diamond-designated, 10-course prix fixe menu. The new cocktail lounge will be called Songbird.

• In With the New: Songbird will feature 16 craft cocktails ranging from $12-$25, as well as non-alcoholic options and a small food menu. they aim to offer a space that is fun and makes guests feel at home.

The Tasting Room closes and September 1st, and reservations can be made HERE to experience it while you still can!

Multiple Local Restaurants Honored by Wine Spectator

19 Kansas City metro restaurants were recently named 2024 Best Restaurants by Wine Spectator, with nine being given the Best of Award of Excellence. They are:

• 801 Chophouse - KCMO

• Farina - KCMO

• Pierpont’s at Union Station - KCMO

• The Capital Grille - KCMO

• JJ’s Restaurant - KCMO

• Osteria Il Centro - KCMO

• Story - Prairie Village

• Vintage ‘78 Wine Bar - Overland Park

• 801 Chophouse - Leawood

No area restaurants earned the Grand Award, which was only awarded to 96 restaurants across the globe.
