Two Local Pizza Shops Named to Food Network’s 50 States of Pizza Slices

Waldo Pizza

Two local pizza shops were named in Food Network’s 50 States of Pizza Slices, but there’s a catch.

  • Metro’s Best: The 50 States of Pizza Slices is the Food Network’s compiliation of the top pizza joints in all 50 states. Waldo Pizza was named the top spot in the state of Missouri, and D’Bronx was named the top spot in Kansas. The catch? D’Bronx closed its last location back in March.

  • Any Way You Slice It: Waldo Pizza, located at 7433 Broadway Street, was named for its lunch buffet, St. Louis-style slices, and variety of pizzas, salads, and pastas. D’Bronx was named for its take on New York-style slices and other East Coast deli items.

Recognition from the Food Network is great, but sometimes a local touch is needed. Check out our Kansas City Pizza Guide for some of our favorite local slices. (Last we checked, they are all still open 😉)

P.S. help us keep our Pizza Guide fresh by sharing your favorite local pizza spots!
